Pinto Art Museum Travel Guide in Antipolo

Beautiful places are sometimes found in the most secluded part of a town like the Pinto Art Museum that is situated in the almost hidden subdivision in Antipolo City.

Pinto Art Museum is owned by Dr. Joven Cuanang, an art enthusiast who believes that appreciation of art and culture can shape one’s identity. He, who is deeply rooted in his inclination to Filipino’s artistic prowess, has accumulated a number of artworks in his personal collection. He acquired a modest house and lot in the 70’s and opened the Pinto Gallery around 2000. When he launched the gallery, he poured his own personal wealth into the museum to perform a civic duty for the Filipino people. The museum’s overall mission is to champion conservation of nature, education of the Filipino people, and opening doors for talented artists. (source)

The museum is not your ordinary museum that houses all its arts in one building. Rather, it consists of more than five buildings that give home to different arts and crafts from our Filipino artists- from modern and contemporary arts to indigenous ones.

The whole place is something to celebrate for those who are into photography and are Instagram fanatics because every corner of this museum is picture-perfect. Unlike other museums, Pinto Art offers its visitors beautiful landscapes that harmonize with the architectural design of the buildings. It is good to say that the whole place is a work of art.

The whole place of Pinto Art Museum is approximately 1.3 hectares so it will take hours before you can actually finish touring the place. If you love arts and are into museums, this is definitely for you. Moreover, the museum is not only designed to house these beautifully painted and crafted arts but serves as a reminder of how world-class our Filipino artists are.

It is really thanks to the unselfishness of the Filipino art collector, Dr. Cuanang, for opening the door of Pinto Art Museum to the public. As he once said, “If you can build a place where people can relate to an idea, things start to happen. I feel that with the state society is in, we need something like this where people can ask themselves: What constitutes a well-lived life? That’s a philosophical question you can answer only if you explore art, science and the humanities.” (source)
